However, when it comes to engineering parts, ABS is far better than PLA. There is a wide range of colors available in PLA that, too, in different composites. For desktop 3D printing, we make use of ABS on a large scale. It is very light in weight and easy to afford. We also use it for manufacturing, DIY, and architectural work. There are numerous colors in which ABS filament is available. It is advised to store ABS in airtight containers.
To obtain PETG, we combine PET and glycol. PETG gives different effects, such as high transparency for 3D printing. This material does not require a high temperature while printing. For garden appliances, we make use of this material.
The main purpose of making PVA 3D printing material is to use it as soluble support material. It is easily soluble in water and does not require any specific chemical to dissolve. Just like most of the 3D printing materials, we store it in vacuum bags.
Nylon is the bestest material among all the 3D printing materials in engineering and arts because of its strength. White plastic is another name of Nylon 3D printing material. Moreover, Nylon is essential for making parts having good tensile and mechanical strength.
One of the alternatives to ABS material is PET. Being a food-safe, this material plays an important role in making water bottles and many other containers. Upon heating, it does not emit odors fumes.
Wood filament is a composite 3D printing material and we prepare them by using PLA. Although it smells like real wood, the original material’s properties are not similar to the composite one. This material is quite appealing to the eyes. However, we can not use wood filament to make a chair.
